I IS FOR IMAGINATION
***INTRODUCING the incredible, incomprable, impressive, inexhaustible, improbable, Irish illusionists the invisible imaginary identical twins Ingrid & Ivy and Ivan & Igor.*** Now touring in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana!!! Investigate the inexplicable at the Innsbruck Inn just north of I-40!!! See them with your own I's (I mean eyes).
Ok, so this entry is a bit idiotic, but it IS supposed to be fun! My I entry is important to me in that I think IMAGINATION is vital! Just 'cause I'm gettin older doesn't mean I have to lose my ability to imagine all kinds of wonderful things to do with my time and talents. Just take a look around blogland and you'll meet all kinds of people who use their imaginations for a greater good. Imagineers can (and do) change our world into a better place. Can you IMAGINE?

JUST A QUICK POST

*Please say a prayer for my dear 91 year old aunt Gladys who is on her death bed.* It's been an emotional time and not much to blog about. I've rejoined TOPS which stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. The boys have been fairly good about getting me out to walk. It's slow going with my bad hip, but we are making some progress. It was good to see some of my old TOPS buddies after almost 7 years. It's a real struggle to get mobile, but it's what I need to do for me.
God Bless ya'll!!!

GATHER ME LORD!
When I was going through the RCIA program before joining the Catholic church, a woman named Andrea would talk about being "chicken" about confronting issues in her life. It just struck a cord with me. It reminded me of Luke 13:34 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!"
How often do we not take heed of the prophets and turn off those sent by God? We can be a stubborn and arrogant people! Jesus is always ready for us to come to Him if we only would.
I cross stitched this as a gift to myself and a reminder that I want to be gathered under Christ's wing! It is a happy reminder too of the happy memories I have with the chickens my Grandma Josephine would raise. She woke my brother and I up one time by holding a baby chick up to our ears. What a neat way to be awakened! Peep! Peep! I miss having chickens! They were a lot of fun to just watch.

JUST FOR FUN

FIFTEEN FAVORITE MOVIES I COULD (AND HAVE) WATCHED OVER AND OVER (thanks for asking Wendy)
1. Blazing Saddles (so much fun to watch)
2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (ah,memories)
3. Funny Farm (the only Chevy Chase movie I like)
4. Groundhog Day (how many years did it take for him to finally "get it"?)
5. Logan's Run (love the man with the cats)
6. Soapdish (tickles my funnybone)
7. The African Queen (so sad they don't make them like that anymore!)
8. The Big Chill (like the soundtrack)
9. The Blues Brothers (like the soundtrack)
10. The Day The Earth Stood Still (staighten up and fly right or my robot will destroy you!)
11. The Passion Of The Christ (watch it every Good Friday, way to go Mel!)
12. The Princess Bride (withstands the test of time)
13. The Quiet Man (just a lovely film!)
14. The Song Of Bernadette (I love this saint for her simplicity, humility and stamina)
15. Young Frankenstein (oh, too funny!)
These are not in order of importance, just movies I have watched over and over. Some are special because they remind me of happy times in my past and some I just like cause they make me happy in some way. I love all the old Martin and Lewis films and really I'm a sucker for old romance films. I think the old Frankenstein film is still an excellent example of a cautionary tale of what happens when man plays God. In a house full of males ANYTHING with Monty Python is watched. I've watched all the Star Wars films and all the Lord of the Rings. The first Matrix film is my favorite of that trilogy. I watch Shirley Temple films and LOVE The Little Princess. When Norm and I first dated we would go with another couple to a local university when they would show foreign films with subtitles. I really enjoyed that. The boys and I really like The Pirates Of The Carribean movie and are looking forward to the next one. So what are YOUR favorite movies?

TALK ABOUT FLASHING YOUR STASH!

Check this out! What a great poster that would make.
Busy with knitting for Dulaan and some more pumpkin hats for The Preemie Project (pics later).
Simply Fibers Ltd my LYS started their week long SALE Saturday night at 8pm and I got just a few things.
Cloths For Crisis has been quiet for a while, but someone broke the silence and we are all pumped to knit/crochet/weave some extra cloths for when (not if), the people who suffer loss during the hurrican season can have a handmade heartfelt gift from someone who cares. I have 14 done so far, but will continue to add a few a week. We have 51 members currently. Won't you concider joining and helping stockpile so people who need them will get them just that much quicker? Or make some for your local crisis center.
The Preemie Project has added a chapter in Michigan which goes to help two hospitals. It is SUCH a worthwhile cause and one which shows no sign of decreasing. A little hat or bootie set for God's littlest miracles hardly takes any time and it mean SO much to the families who go through this truly difficult trial.
Preemie hats, bootie sets and cotton cloths take about an hour each to do. I keep the patterns simple so I can pick up easily where I leave off, since Michael is getting into EVERYTHING. I get most of my knitting done when he's asleep. I also have insomnia at times which is good in one way and not so good in another.
#1 son and I went to confession the other day. It really feels so good to get things out in the open and know that my sins have been absolved. This sacrament is one that I found hard to embrace at first, but it has helped tremendously in my faith journey. I wish more Catholics would embrace it for the sacrament that it is. No I'm not perfect, but I'm working on walking the path that God has set before me to the best of my ability, keeping in mind "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Phillipians 4:13
PRAY FOR PEACE!
