About A Week

That's how long it took from start to finish on this, the newest round blanket. Measuring approx. 38" in diameter this round blanket is made with all donated yarn. The orange and cream are cotton and the green/cream is half cotton and acrylic. I used the usual US6 dpn and circular needles. I am working today, the last day of September, on some ribbed baby hats for a change of pace. I'll probably start another round blanket too.
Can hardly believe how fast this month has gone by! We have finally gotten into a good routine and hopefully will have a better time of it. Open House is tonight at school so we will see how things are progressing there.
Am enjoying Dancing With The Stars this season, though I haven't voted yet. Go Bristol!!
Not impressed with this season's Project Runway. There's too much contrived drama and not enough imaginative fashion. I do hope Mondo wins. I like his bright designs. Always love Tim Gunn and look forward to reading his new book.
I miss Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs.
American Pickers and Pawn Stars are interesting though. My dear hubby watched some Hoarders and did a great job organizing the master bathroom and I did some straightening myself!
The boys and their father went to the Palace on Tuesday evening (dollar night) to watch the A-Team movie. Eric said it was his newest favorite funny movie. Dad was not as impressed. On a sadder note, R.I.P. Tony Curtis. He was quite the entertainer.
Am looking forward to tomorrow as it's the feast day of St. Therese the Little Flower and also when The Apostolate of Holy Motherhood meets.
Haven't kept up with the blog like I used to and this is one of my favorite months for saints too!! Hoping to do a little better than just two or three posts.

To Celebrate The First Day of Autumn

This is donated orange cotton yarn. I can hardly wait to see it finished. I have two skeins of this and some cream colored cotton for the border. I have so many other projects I'd love to be starting on and a sweater that is more than half way completed. The embroidery flower project bug has not hit me since April. That's ok since there is no real deadline. Perhaps in the cold winter the idea of embroidering flowers will come on strong again. I'd like to start another log cabin blanket, a blanket using different purple yarns, a blue diamond blanket, some bunny loveys, and get more hat/bootie sets completed. I may not post here much but there is certain to be much knitting and praying being done anyway.

Burial Gown For Small Preemie Girl

I modified the pattern using only stockentte stitch instead of the two suggested pattern stitches. The gown needs some ribbon roses to be complete. I used Bernat Baby Sport. I see more gowns in the future using this pattern by Lenore English.

Something For 9 Ounces And Under

These are Micro Burial Buntings for 9 ounces and smaller. The first is made with donated Classic Elite Yarns Premiere 50% Pima Cotton and 50% Tencel. The pink is Bernat Baby Sport. The blue is Lion Brand Yarn Baby Soft. I've been very blessed to have people donate yarn and I plan on making more of these using the wonderful different yarns. These need to have buttons and ribbons before they are completed.

For ARound Christmas

I love this blanket! The red is Caron Simply Soft and the white is Sirdar SNOWFLAKE Ultra light fashion chunky donated yarn. The white was really fiddly to work with but the end results are so nice!! It measures approx. 34" in diameter. After the baby gets older this would be a sweet Christmas table cloth.
