Round Blanket #23 Of 2010

Can you believe how many round blankets I've knit up this year? A couple have been for gifts but the majority have been for charity. The enthusiasm hasn't died for me though as there is enough of a variety in the different yarns used to keep things interesting.
This round blanket is made using Bella DK Tapestry (100% Dralon, 3.5 oz, 404 yards), and almost two skeins of Sirdar Snuggly double knitting yarn (191 yards each). The usual US6 dpn and circular needles were used and it measures approx. 35" in diameter.

A Sweater For Daniel

Made with Red Heart Super Saver Camo (he chose the yarn) I used the pattern from Interweave Knits Summer 2010 on page 67 the "singalong sweater" as the base though I didn't make it as written. Since the length needed to be modified to fit Daniel's long torso and arms, and the yarn is busy enough I made it as simply as I could with that particular pattern as a guide using the size 14-16 instructions. Daniel likes it and that's all that matters. It's a little on the big side on him now but hopefully he'll be wearing it for at least a couple of years.
Since we should be getting some cooler weather for Thanksgiving he may be wearing it sooner than later. Hope ya'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving day!!!

Also, using the usual US6 dpn and circulars, it measures approx. 34" in diameter.

More Fun With LEGO'S

Daniel wanted me to post his latest creations. I love how creative he is and that all my boys like to play with this wonderful toy.

Shades of Blue/Lavendar

This squarish blanket is made from 2 skeins of James C. Brett Baby Marble Double Knit yarn. 100% acrylic and using US7 needles it measures approx. 27"x27". Each skein has 293 yards. I used the Grandmother's Favorite pattern except instead of all knit I purled the back stitches (all but the four stitches at the beginning and end of the rows). I like the color variation of the yarn and the fact that it's machine washable.

Our Spiderman!

Our #1 son got bit by a spider late Wednesday night. It's been getting worse so tomorrow we go to the hospital burn unit where they deal with spider bites too. Please say a prayer for healing! Thank you!!!

Did You Hear The One...

Did you hear the joke about the big brother getting bit on the arm by a spider...and the middle brother licking his lip til a sore came up...and the little brother accidentally falling and spraining his wrist all in the same week? Yeah, I don't think it's too funny either, but it's our reality at the moment. Oh and the cat Bobby getting his shoulder hurt too, just for a rim shot;~p
Hello November!!! I'm done with all this funny business.
